31/07/09My 3 year old attends active kids nursery and has since he was 9 months old. The openplan layout of nursery is great, as when I arrive to drop my son off or to collect him at the end of the day, straight away you can see what they are all doing!! The meals are all freshly prepared on the day and they always eat plenty of fruit. I know my little man will thoroughly miss his friends and the friendly staff when he leaves to go to school next year! Rachael
25/11/09Both my children attend Active Kids and have done since they were young. They both love the activities, especially the messy play with foam and water. My 2 year old has even started to pick up sign language that they have done at circle time activities. The sportshall facility is great as the kids have loads of space to run about even when it's raining! Staff are really freindly and welcoming too. Highly recommended! Karen (Grayce & Eddie)
07/09/2009We relocated from Southampton to Leeds and Charlotte started nursery back in May 2009. I was really worried that she would have to get use to a new home, a new life, nursery and start to make new friends but Active Kids nursery have made this transition so easy. She absolutely loves her time at nursery and she is such a happy playful child. All the staff at nursery are fantastic and very friendly. Charlotte has made loads of friends (although most of them are boys!! and she's only 3!). We're now trying to network and get ourselves involved in some groups so we can play with some friends at the weekend when she doesn't have to go to Southampton to visit family. Debbie (Charlotte)
08/07/2009Oskar my son who attends Active Kids is having a really nice time there at the moment - especially with his friends Ellis, Megan and Charlotte - he talks about nursery all the time and he just loves it. Emma (Oskar) 06/07/09Great to have a blog to have a go at. I’m always met by happy faces when I leave and collect Oskar at Active kids- Great! Tore (Oskar)
09/03/2010Finding a suitable nursery placement was a difficult choice for us to ensure that our little boy would benefit the support he needs with his deafness. Active Kids has given us the reassurance knowing that we have chosen the right place for him. Almost two years on, they have extremely worked so hard to ensure that they overcome barriers of communicating with him by using British Sign Language. With the extra support frorm a particular staff who has signing skills ensure that all staff was able to learn signing and involve it in with their everday activities, encourage other children to do the same has been an sucessful sight to see. Our boy is very happy little boy, so confidence and is babbling away vocally and signing non-stop. Without their support and determination he won't be so unique in his own right. We are now looking forward to do the same thing all over again with his brother soon. Chris & Elizabeth (unique) 06/11/09I am a perpatetic deaf instructor and first came to visit Active Kids to see a little deaf boy. I think the staff and children gel really well together and they have a good knowledge of deaf awareness and have all done a 6 week training course in BSL. There is always an exciting activity to see and my favourite is the shaving foam where the children really interact with each other. I like this one best because it is a very visual activity and there are lots of expressions on their faces while they play with the foam. Active Kids has a lovely open environment and is a joy to visit every time and the food always smells great. Teacher of the Deaf (secret)
24/09/09My son is my third child to attend Active Kids (Cor i sound old!). My daughters who are now in school were always happy with the range of activities and cheerfull staff, who really knew their daily needs, likes and dislikes!!. My son now waves as he approaches nursery and as a parent staff are approachable and tell me all about his day, when he isn't old enough to do so. I must mention Christine, she cooks fab, healthy meals and caters for my sons lactose intollerance fabulously. The staff genuinley care which makes my working day more bearable knowing he is happy and loved! Jenny (Stephen) |
